How to Use Model Portfolios in Passiv

This is a tutorial to help you get started with Model Portfolios. Model Portfolios will allow you to create model allocations that you can apply to your portfolio group(s), save time by applying the same model to multiple portfolios in a few clicks, easily switch between models to view your portfolio through different lenses, share your model portfolios with friends.

Edit a model assigned to a portfolio group*

Go to the Overview page of the portfolio group you want to edit. Scroll down and click Edit Model.

You can also click on My Models, then click View on the Model you want to edit.

You can edit your model’s name by clicking Edit Name.

Click the Edit Model button to edit assets and allocations.

You can edit the percentages you want to allocate to each asset, add new assets, and assign a percentage allocation to them. Press enter to add the line to your Model. You can also delete assets you don’t want in your model anymore.

When you are done click Save Model.

* At the moment, if you need to edit a model portfolio that is applied to more than one portfolio group, you’ll need to create a new model and apply it to the group.

Apply another model to a portfolio group

Option 1:

Go to the portfolio group you want to apply the New Model to, scroll down and click Apply New Model.

Click Apply Model on the Model you want to apply.

Option 2:

Go to My Models. Click Apply on the Model you want to apply.

Select the portfolio group you want to apply the Model to.

Create a New Model

Go to My Models. Click on New Model.

Add assets and assign a percentage allocation to them. Press enter to add the line to your model.

When you are done click Save Model.

Excluded assets

Your excluded assets are now listed in your Portfolio Settings.

When you “un-exclude” an asset from that list, you will be prompted to add it to your Model or “re-exclude” it in the Overview page.

If you have assets in your portfolio group that are not part of the model you’re applying to it, Passiv will show you a message to either exclude them, or add them to your model. If you do nothing, Passiv will try to liquidate your position in these assets when Sell is enabled.

Share a Model

In My Models, click View on the model you want to share.

Then enable sharing by turning ON the Share Model toggle.

Copy the link to share it. Your friends will have access to non-editable version of your model, such as this:

Note that when you turn Share Model OFF, your friends won’t be able to access your Shared Model page anymore.
