Since I started this blog in 2013, Ive written at least one article a week. But starting next month, I plan on writing just two or three articles a month.

The articles I publish will follow a pattern: I will continue to give my thoughts on matters that affect MoneyGeeks portfolios on the first Monday of each month. On the third Mondays, I will continue to present my TFSA updates, as well as present my findings on my research into machine learning as a tool to use in investment choices. In months that have fifth Mondays, I will try to publish interviews with fund managers and other financial professionals.

There are two major reasons why Ill be writing less. One, it takes a lot of research to publish results on machine learning. A typical neural network takes half a day to train, and I have to train a lot of them in order to determine which architecture works best. I had initially hoped to publish one article on machine learning each month, but I now think thats too ambitious. As noted, I will aim to publish machine learning related articles in my TFSA updates.

Two, I have less time to write nowadays. Up until a couple of months ago, I worked for a large bank as a financial engineer creating risk models. One of the good things about that job was that it gave me a lot of time to do my own stuff.

However, Ive since quit that job in order to become a full time entrepreneur building custom software for financial services clients. I currently have two U.S. clients, with potentially more on the way. While Im relishing the freedom that comes with being my own boss, that freedom is accompanied by heavier workloads.

In order not to overburden myself, Ive decided to cut back on writing. Doing this will save me a lot of time; I estimate that each article takes about 10 hours to write on average. Thank you for your readership.

P.S. If your company needs custom financial software, drop me a line.
